THE TRANSER OF TAXI LICENCES
Sir, —In considering the report of the Licensing Authority on the recent application for a transfer of a licence, I am further convinced that it is time that a free-thinking, unbiased tribunal was installed. An interesting point relative to the recent case is that two members of the tribunal have the glory of. telling the people that they have granted a licence to a soldier, but they should remember their sympathetic rejoinders in previous cases, viz.: “We will see that you men get a fair spin when licences become available.” When it is all boiled down one can only reflect that justice is justice, and there are channels of success for the man and channels of rebuke lor the ” mugs ” like myself, who trusted to this authority’s so-called ” patriotic justice.”—l am, etc., David S. Coutts. March 10.
