WOOLPACK AND TEXTILES
A net profit, after providing for taxation, of £lsl, compared with £2223 the previous year and £3422 in 1942, is shown in the accounts of New Zealand Woolpack and Textiles, Ltd., Foxton, for the year ended December 31. With £1272 brought in, there is £1423 available, which the directors recommend should be carried forward. In recent years the company lias been paying a dividend of 4 per cent. The report states that with a fixed saleprice for the company’s product it had been found impossible to provide the customary dividend and at the same time absorb the ever-increasing costs of materials, services, and extra holiday pay.
