FUTURE BEEF SUPPLY
BUTCHERS EXPRESS ANXIETY (P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Mar. 19. . Anxiety for the future of New Zealand’s beef supply was expressed by delegates at the annual conference of the New Zealand Master Butchers’ Association at New Plymouth to-day. It was decided to urge the Government to prohibit the killing of immature stock.
“ The time will come when New Zealand will be short of beef,” said Mr A. L. Keith (Rotorua). “The Government will not be able to say that we did not warn it.”
