The following appointments were made; Draw Committee —Messrs Jeffery, Denholm, and Thomson; Emergency Commit- * tee —Messrs Doran, Campbell, and R. Hinton; refreshments convener, Mr D. H. Thomson. Delegates were specially requested to secure markers for the singles, 56 being reauired. The bonus for greenkeepers was fixed at the same figure as last year; and the centre agreed to meet any expense the country clubs might incur in preparing the greens for Easter. It was .agreed to play the finals on Phoenix No. 1 green.

There were present at the meeting Mr J. Campbell (president), in the chair, Messrs D. H. Thomson, L. Clark, J. A. Dunbar, R. M. Waller, V. E. Doran, N. H. Colquhoun, J. Hendy, 11. C. Jeffery, W. Denholm, and the secretary (Mr ’Henry Hay).

Messrs Campbell, Thomson, and Hay were empowered to arrange a date for a visit bv centre members to the Palmerston Club. The Christchurch Centre wrote stating that the annual match for the Barnett Tiki would have to be abandoned for this year, as it had been-impossible to arrange transport, and the railway services were not suitable.—Mr Thomson stated that the Christchurch Centre might be able to send a team to Oamaru on a week-day, ' and the secretary was directed to write to the Christchurch Centre suggesting that the match be played at Oamaru on a weekday. preferably on a Thursday. The Awamoa Club was given permission to hold its annual “ flour ” day at Phoenix on Saturday, April 14. The Awamoa Club forwarded a recommendation to the centre to consider favourably the revival of the Mills Shield competition. If it was found impossible for the country clubs to compete, then the competition should be confined to the town clubs, and if the centre could not play both the Mills Shield and Sidsy Cup competitions, then Ihe Mills Shield should be given preference.—The recommendation was briefly discussed and referred to the annual meeting of the centre. Mr Thomson said that two attempts had been made to have the term “ fours ” changed back to " rinks,” and on the motion of Mr Jeffery it was agreed to write to other centres asking their views on the proposal. Mr Doran reported that the Kurc-w Club was being revived, and intended to affiliate with the centre. The club required equipment, such as a mower and a roller, and aiso bowls, and he hoped that other clubs would assist as much as possible in this direction if they had spare gear. A green was also being put down at the Waitaki Hydro, where there were between 30 and 40 players. Mr Doran added that he had been asked for advice about green maintenance, but as he was not qualified he suggested that the centre might be, able to send an expert to Kurow for a day or two to help the club.

Mr Campbell said t.he centre should give the club every encouragement.
