Mr and Mrs R. A. Mackie, of Maori Hill, have received two postcards from their son, Captain J. B. Mackie, who is a prisoner of war in Borneo. He reports that he is well. Mr and Mrs-J. Stewart, of 8 Chester street, North-East Valley, have received a card from their son, Telegraphist Murdo Stewart, who is a prisoner of war in Hongkong. He stated that he was well and was being transferred from Hongkong.

Mr Sydney Greenbie, representative in New Zealand of the United States Office of War Information, accompanied by Mrs Greenbie, will visit Dunedin early next month. Arrangements to entertain the visitors are now being made by the Mayor (Mr D. C. Cameron), and it is hoped to provide facilities for Mr and Mrs Greenbie to inspect farming districts in the province. Passengers who left for the north by the airliner yesterday were Mr McGill, Miss F. Couston, Mr H. Kenny, Mr H. Thomson. Miss H. Thomson, and Miss D. Bradley for Wellington, Miss N Brock for Palmerston North, Mr and Mrs H White for Auckland. Passengers who arrived by the afternoon plane were Miss F. Kessling, Mr H Turner, and Miss Sligo from Auckland, Miss B. Findlay, Miss V. Jephson. Mr E. Oliver, Mr J. Craw, Mr C J. Read, Mr J. Morovick, and Miss Easton from Wellington. Passengers who left for Invercargill were Mr and Mrs D. Brown, Miss N. Brown, Miss E. Greer, Miss N. Monteath, Mr P. Lowe, Mr J. Fredric, Mrs S. Robertson, and Miss S. Russell.
