LORD NUFFIELD
DENIAL OF A RUMOUR NO FACTORIES IN AUSTRALIA MELBOURNE, Jan. 6. A denial that he proposed setting up a motor car factory in Australia was given by Lord Nuffield, He added that he had no plans for post-war construction of cars. His factories would begin making 1939 model cars as soon as possible after the war. Lord Nuffield derided revolutionary trends in motor car Designs. Cars for civilian use would remain much as before the war.
Looking very tired, Lord Nuffield said he had come to Australia for a rest and to sec old friends.
