WATER SUBSIDES

MOSGIEL-OUTRAM ROAD CLEAR The flooding of the Taieri River on the road between Mosgiel and Outram, on the Mosgiel side of the bridge, which on Saturday necessitated the use by motorists of the detour route leading from Allanton to Outram, subsided on Saturday night, and yesterday the road was negotiable. The river was three feet above the bridge on Saturday morning, the main cause being the coinciding of the rapid rising of the river and the full tide.

The heavy rain was general throughout Otago on Saturday morning, but no reports have come to hand of any further blockages.
