NEW LIBERATION LOAN
THE FRENCH ISSUE (Rec. 11 p.m.) PARIS, Jan. 5. France’s “ little man ” subscribed practically the whole of the new liberation loan, which the Finance Minister, M. Rene Pleven, announced amounted to a total equivalent to £820,000.000, of which £635,000,000 was new money. Two and a-quarter million persons subscribed almost the whole of the loan in small amounts. Only 2000 subscribed sums of more than £SOOO. More than half the subscriptions came from bank notes and the remainder from cheques.
