NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Dunedin City Council at a Special Meeting convened for the purpose and held on Monday, , the 18th day of December, 1944, passed the following resolution, viz.:— THAT the- Dunedin ■ City Council ■ hereby " resolves by way of Special ? Order, pursuant to the powers and authorities vested in it in that behalf by the "Municipal Corporations. Act, 1933,” and of all and every other power in that behalf enabling it, to make a by-law to.be known as the "Dunedin City. By-lawy-law No. 37, 1945.” The object and purport of the proposed by-law is as follows: To ; amend and extend By-law No. 1 of the City of Dunedin, to repeal Section 5B of the said by-law, and Section 127 of By-law No. 18, 1926, •and to consequentially repeal Sections 3 and 4 of By-law No. 36, 1944. ' ■ , To prohibit the driving of cattle iinto- or 1 through the city -excepting along specified routes, and subject to ■ certain reservations, restrictions, and conditions. Such reservations, restrictions, and conditions generally pro- ■ hibit -the driving of. cattle between - ' stated hours along specified streets, with exceptions in, certain cases cover- . irig Saturdays. Sundays, public holi- . days, and days or. which primary schools are closed. Further provision ,is made that ■no cattle shall be so * driven unless preceded by an outrider. The proposed by-law. further pro- ■ vides that the Council may in the case of any change of circumstances alter * any of the routes specified, or any of the restrictions, reservations, and conditions by resolution publicly notified. - - ■ * - ' The /routes prescribed for driving cattle- are - described in detail in a schedule to the proposed by-law. .
