STATE THEATRE
ADVENTURE IN THE DESERT Humphrey Bogart scores another outstanding success in “ Sahara,” a thrilling drama of the African campaign, which opened at the State Theatre yesterday. Bogart is cast as the commander of a tank who takes charge of a group of Allied soldiers picked up in the desert after the fall of Tobruk. The men make their way to a desert fort, in which they are besieged by a strong German force, and there is excitement in plenty in the ensuing scenes. Bogjirt gives a performance which will enhance the reputation he made in “ Casablanca,” and he is ably supported by Bruce Bennett, as the tank mechanic;' J. Carrol Naish, Richard Nugent, and Rex Ingram. The only heroine in the film is the 28-ton tank Lulubelle, Bogart’s special pride and love. Box plans are at Begg's and the theatre.
