PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
PARTY CAMPAIGN EXPENSES WASHINGTON, Jan. 3. Reports filed in Congress of party campaign expenses in the Presidential election show that the Democrats expended 2,056,121d0l 58 cents to elect President Roosevelt, and the Republicans spent 2.828,651d0l 56 cents in the unsuccessful campaign for Dewey. The Republican receipts were 2.999,959d0l 48 cents, which is 52 cents under the legal limit for election contributions. The Democrat receipts were 2.056,121 dol 58 cents.
