BESIEGED BY CHINESE
KEY RAILWAY CENTRE (Rec. 11.45 p.m.) CHUNGKING. Jan. 3. The Chinese are besieging the key railway centre of Hochih, in Kwangsi, and have struck 25 miles to the southeast. They surprised and captured Szeen-hsien, and are apparently isolating Hochih. Szeen-hsien is near the Kwangsi-Kweichow railway, which supplies the Japanese in Hochih.
