The United States Maritime Commission announces that with the delivery of 145 merchant ships during December United States ship yards in 1944 turned out 1677 ships, with an aggregate of well over 16,000,000 dead-weight tons, compared with the record year of 1943, when 1896 ships, aggregating over 19.000,000 tons dead-weight, were delivered.
