SIR STAFFORD CRIPPS’S VIEWS

Sir Stafford Cripps to-day outlined his policy of practical Christian idealism for the post-war treatment of Germany and future peace work. He urged that there should be: First, no revenge against the German people, but they should be disarmed, and their war potential controlled, thus giving protection to neighbouring countries; secondly, a recasting of Europe’s frontiers; thirdly, punishment of war criminals; fourthly, treatment of the German people as brothers in the human family capable of returning to the community of nations. Sir Stafford was addressing the Baptist Union on “A time for greatness in international relationships.”
