FARMERS ASKED TO ASSIST

(P.A.) MASTERTON. Jan. 4. The labour position at the Waingawa Freezing Works in the Wairarapa is still acute, and it has been necessary to direct over 30 men of the 18-20 years group included in the last few ballots for work there. An appeal recently made to farmers forward for employment at the works or to release men for that purpose met with a poor response. Mr R. W. Kebbell. chairman of the Wairarapa Primary Production Council, has again appealed to farmers to give some assistance in relieving the position.
