The sunshine figures, supplied by Mr D. S. Bain, show that there were 119 hours 15 minutes cf sunshine in December, as compared with 218 hours in December. 1943. The hours of sunshine for the month were the second shortest in 17 years, the lowest number recorded being in 193 J. when there were 97 hours. The December average is 160 hours 30 minutes. The daily average last month was 3 hours 50 minutes. There were 10 days with 7 hours or over, including days of h, 9, and 10 hours. The best day was December 10 with 11 hours. There were 8 days without sunshine. The total sunshine for the year was 1807 hours 55 minutes, compared with 1905 hours 30 minutes for 1943. The yearly average for the last 17 years Is 1833 hours 15 minutes.
