The following quotations per 1001 b for beef and per lb for mutton and pigs are supplied, with a comparison with last week’s prices, by our special representative at yesterday's Burnside stock sale:—

17s Gd; prime, £lB 12s 6d to £2O 2s Gd; medium. £ls 17s 6d to £l7 12s Gd; and light from £l4 2s Gd; extra prime heifers, to £ls 17s 6d; prime, £ll 17s 6d to £l3 2s 6d; medium, £9 10s to £lO 12s 6d; atld light, from £8 12s Gd; extra prime cows, to £l2 2s Gd; prime, £9 17s Gd to £lO 17s Gd; medium, £8 7s Gd to £9 2s 6d; and light, from £6 2s 6d. Fat Sheep.—The entry numbered 2100, and was composed mostly of wethers with a small yarding of ewes suitable for the trade. The market opened at a drop of. Is Gd to 2s for wethers, with a general easing as the sale progressed, and towards the finish prices were easier by another Is 6d a head. Ewes about maintained last week's rates. Quotations: Extra prime wethers, to 36s Gd; prime, 32s to 34s 6d; medium, 27s 6d to 295; and light, from 235; prime ewes, 19s to 225; medium, 163 to 17s 6d; and light, from 15s. Fat Lambs.—The entry in the fat lamb section was 640. In spite of the large number yarded there was a fairly sound demand throughout for all grades, and last week's values were maintained. Quotations: Extra prime lambs, to 355; prime, 30s to 335; medium, 27s to 28s Gd; and light, from 225. „ - Store Cattle.—A fairly good yarding of steers was offered and sold under brisk competition. The improved export schedule and also the prospect of abundant feed arc no doubt helping prices. There appeared to be more buyers present than usual. One pen of • good-con-ditioned three and four-year-old steers made to £l3. three-year-old steers £ll 12s Gd to £l2 12s 6d, two to two-and-a-half-year-old £9 to £lO 2s 6d, and 18-months-old £6 17s 6d to £7 15s. There was a larger yarding of vealers than usual which met with a shade easier sale. Good runners realised from £lO 10s, prime vealers £5 17s to £6 15s, medium £4 2s Gd to £4 14s, and small and light to £2 10s. , , , Fat Pigs.—There was a fairly good yarding of baconers, and included in this entry was an exceptionalls' good consignment. The sale'opened at under somewhat easier conditions, but there was a gradual improvement as the sale advanced, and towards the finish competition was particularly keen. One exceptionally good baconer realised £9 12s. A consignment from T. Wilkinson (Five Forks) of 20 pigs made an average of £7 17s. Extra prime baconers made to £9 12s (the best secured,, at Burnside for some time), prime £7 2s to £8 4s, medium £5 7s to £5 17s, and light from £4 14s. Dairy Cows.—There was little more than a skeleton entry in the dairy pens, and the quality was only ordinary. Best sorts of cows made from £7 2s 6d to £l2, medium £6 10s to £7 15s, and other sorts from £5 upwards.
