GREEK DECORATIONS

AWARDS PRESENTED TO SOLDIERS (p.A.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 13. At a special ceremonial parade held at Papakura this morning, decorations awarded by the Greek Goverhment were presented by Major-general P. H. Bell, officer commanding the northern military district. The Greek Military Cross (third class) was awarded to Major H. G. Wooller, New Zealand Staff Corps, of Parnell. The award was made as -the result of Major /Wooller’s courage, gallantry, and self-sacrifice while serving with a Greek battalion during the battle. of Crete;

Staff-sergeant L. J. Knox, of Grey Lynn, and Bombardier D. F. McMasters, of Orakei, were presented with the Greek Distinguished Service Mgdal.

This was the first time that Greek decorations had been presented at a parade in Auckland.
