SCHOOL PRIZE LISTS
The annual break-up ceremony of the King Edward Technical College was held in the school hall yesterday afternoon. There was a Jarge attendance of parents and friends. The chairman of the board of managers, Mr J. J. Marlow, who presided, congratulated the pupils on a successful year’s work. He announced that four prefabricated classrooms would be available for next year. A musical programme included items by the massed choir, selections by the school orchestra and band, and a song by Miss Yvonne Hill, with orchestral accompaniment. Thcvisitors were later served with afternoon tea, and were afforded an opportunity of visiting the Art School exhibition. . The scholarships and special awards won during the year were presented as follows: Athletic Sports Shields.—Boys: Junior, D’Arcy McFarlone; senior, Stuart Bunn and Colin Alien. Girls: Junior, Daphne Robertson; senior, Patricia Lang. Hayward Memorial Cup.—Colin Drake. Ivan Berryman Cup.—Nola Anderson. Leslie Stubbs Cup.—Ernest Kofoed. Swimming Cups.—Boys; Lloyd B. Wilson. Girls: Noeline Carstensen. Athenaeum Prizes. —Philomena Breen, Myrtle Taylor, June Hunter, Kathleen Simmons, Alan Paris, M. J. McLaren. James 11.
