Cricket.—At. Stilling, on Saturday, Freezer-Linen Flax was defeated by Stirling by 198 runs to 114. For the winners A. Barron made 112 (retired), hitting 16 4's and one 6. Other Stirling players to reach double figures wete S. McDonald (26) and G. Whiteford (21). Jardine took four wickets for 25 runs. The highest scorers for the visitors were R. Davey (31), G. Tate (31) and R. Blair (23). Barroii took three, for 16, A. Duncan two for eight, Foster two for seven, and McLeod two. for six.—Clutha Footballers played Benhar on the latfer’s ground and won by 114 to 63. A. Stewart (45) retired was top-scorer for the winners, others to reach .double figures being T, Hansen (26) and Inglis (22). For Benhar, McGrath (13). Bowling,—Fourteen rinks from the Balclutha, Kaitangata and Stirling Clubs participated in the South Otago rinks tournament on the Balclutha green on Saturday. Swimming.—The Balclutha Swimming Club held its opening carnival on Saturday, competitors behig present from the Kaitangata, Toko, and Kiwi (Dunedin) Clubs. During the afternoon a life-saving demonstration was given by Miss J. Stewart (Balclutha) and Miss E. Morris (Toko), and B. Tremaine (Kiwi) gave an exhibition of breaststroke swimming. Mr A. J.
