BRITISH INTERVENTION
GREEKS IN AMERICA PROTEST (Rec. 1 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Dec. 12. A delegation representing GreekAmerican societies with a total membership of 100,000 visited the State Department and protested against British intervention in Greece and urged mediation by the United States to end the bloodshed. M. Stelios Pistolakis, a former Greek member of Parliament, who headed the delegation, said the State Department officials gave an assurance that the American policy enunciated by the Secretary of State; Mr E. R. Stettinius, would be continued. M. Pistolakis, added that he felt that American influence would be exerted to check the fighting and' permit a' peaceful settlement in keeping with the • wishes of the Greek people. . The delegation was received at, the British Embassy, where it protested against Britain’s attempt to impose by force of foreign arms a Government opposed to the will of the Greek people.
