AIRMAN PROMOTED
AUSTRALIAN AIR ACE (Rec. 11 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Dec. 12. Wing Commander Clive Caldwell, D. 5.0.. D.F.C. and bar, Polish Cross of Valour, has been promoted to the rank of group captain. He has a tally of 27J fenemy aircraft destroyed in aerial combat and is the R.A.AF.’s number one fighter ace. He is the first graduate of the Empire air training scheme to rise to the rank of group captain.
