FINLAND’S RULING BODY
ANTI-RUSSIAN ELECTED HEAD (Rec. 11 p.m.) HELSINKI, Oct. 23. M. Vaino Tanner, who has consistently expressed anti-Russian views, has been elected head of the Social Democratic Council, which is the ruling body of the most powerful party in Finland. Marshal Stalin, in a message to M. Passikivi, the former Finnish Foreign
Minister, who is now president of the newly-founded Finnish-Soviet Society, said: “ I have no doubt that friendly relations between Russia and Finiana, based on co-operation and mutual respect, will be re-established.”
