WIN FOR VOLO SENWOD (P A ) AUCKLAND, Oct. 22. The Auckland Trotting Club's spring meeting opened yesterday and the weather was fine following heavy rain in the forenoon. The attendance was good. The track was soft, but improved later. The totaiisator handled £87,407, compared with £70,208 10s last year—an increase of £17,200 10s. Of the large number of southern horses competing Sea Born was the only winner, but several were placed. Following are the results:— Waitemata Handicap, of £3OO.
