BRITISH NAVAL FORCE
TRANSFER TO PACIFIC MOVEMENT ALREADY UNDER WAY (Rec. 8 p.m.) RUGBY, Oct. 21. “We hope to place in the Pacific a fleet capable in itself of fighting a general action with the Japanese Navy,’’ said the First Lord of the Admiralty, Mr A. V. Alexander. “I hope the censor will not object if I tell you that the movement of at least a part of that vast fleet and its mighty attendant train is already under way,” he added. “Ultimately, we and our great American ally must and will between us gain complete control of the seas again. When that is true, the forces of the enemy in the east will be systematically dispersed and ruthlessly destroyed.”
