JUGOSLAV CONSUL
RELEASED FROM DUTY (P.A.) AUCKLAND. Oct. 23. The honorary consul for Jugoslavia in Auckland since February, 1927, Mr John Totich, has been released from further duty by the Royal Jugoslav Government in London. A cablegram from the Jugoslav Prime Minister in London, Dr Ivan. Subasic, was received by Mr Totich yesterday. It stated: “By decree of October 6 you have been released from the duty of honorary consul." In reply to Dr Subasic, Mr Totich said he would take care of the archives of the consulate in the meantime and attend to consular business in an actting capacity until further notice. He has advised the New Zealand Government to this effect.
