PEIPING PALACE
LOOTED BY CHINESE PUPPETS CHUNGKING, Oct. 19. Chinese puppet Government officials, eager to contribute to Japanese scrap metal and timber drives, looted the Imperial summer palace at Peiping and seized bronze and art treasures dating back to the Ming Dynasty. They cut down tens of thousands of ancient cypress trees in the nearby temple area.
