MANCHESTER UNITY

N.G. Sis. Hore presided over a good attendance at the monthly meeting of Loyal Naseby Lodge. P.G. Bros. Inder and Griffiths submitted full reports of the proceedings at the recent district meeting.—lt was decided to hold a lodge ball on November 3. The nineteenth birthday of Loyal Princess Mary Lodge was fittingly celebrated on Tuesday last. P.G. Sis. D. Riddell presided, and welcomed over 100 guests. The entertainment was in the hands of P.G. Sis. V. Donaldson. The hall was tastefully decorated. Miss Joyce Kingsland was crowned “ Queen of the May” by the Prov. G.M. Sis. Ann Hoseit described the scenes in verse, compiled by the producer. Songs were given by Sisters Edna Thompson and D. Riddell, and choruses.by the assembly. Suitable dances were introduced, including the maypole dance. The function was a credit to all concerned, particularly the producer, Sis. V. Donaldson. , , On Saturday last the annual competitions of the juvenile members of the Order were held. The ritual test was won by Loyal Taleri juveniles. The general knowledge and shooting tests were taken in three sections. Caversham won both quoits costests (teams and individual). Five district officers were present. The Prov. G.M. made a presentation to the recentlyretired secretary of the Juvenile Council, P.P.G.M. Bro. E. J. W. Hey, of a fireside chair, and to Mrs Hey a -“week-end” bag. Bro. Robb made reference to the outstanding service Bro. Hey had rendered for 17 years. Bro. Hey suitably responded on behalf of Mrs Hey and himself. j
