MESSAGE TO WOMEN

CALL FOR CO-OPERATION PILLAR OF FAMILY LIFE The National Council of Women oh the conclusion of its sixteenth Dominion. Conference/ issued - the following message to the women* of New Zealand: — , i “ Our deliberations have convinced us that, in the building of a ne-fr world, the family and a closer cooperation, loyalty and knowledge of each other are’two of the foundation pillars on which we ought to build: “To this end we ask women of all ages to join with us in upholding 'the dignity, national importance, and responsibility of motherhood, and to assist mothers in every way possible in their great national task. 1 “Secondly, we urge all women to work for the rightful place of women in the life of the nation and the community, and to realise their individual right and duty to prepare themselves' for this task.. ’ ' 1 J “ Thirdly, we would affirm our belief that wealth, power, well-being, aqd improved material living conditions can never bring complete peace, happiness and freedom unless unshaken belief in Christian standards/ ;is strengthened by daily practice j and earnest prayer. -.i,-I “ Finally, the presence at our conference of a representative of the Maori women and also a representative of the Australian women’s organisations has shown us that a better knowledge and understanding of the needs and aspirations of the peopleiOf the world will, considerably further the making and preserving of international peace.” •'... ; .
