RECORD RUBBER OUTPUT
CANBERRA, Oct. 18. Rubber production in Australia’s external territories has reached a record. For the year ended June 30 production was 1621 tons, or 275 tons above the highest pre-war figure. Announcing this, the Minister for' External Territories, Mr E. J. Ward, said the record had been reached although, considerable areas of New Guinea were still regarded as operational and therefore could not be worked. Most of the rubber produced came from Papua,
