HERITAGE MOVEMENT

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE The monthly meeting of the executive of Heritage (Otago) was held on Wednesday night. The president (Mr C. W. Birch) occupied the chair, and there were also present—Messrs J. B, Stewart, W. J. Meade, C. R. McLean, A. McHutchon, C. M. Greenslade, E. J. Anderson, W. F. Forrester, and V. S. Jacobs. The secretary (Mr R. S. M. Sinclair) reported that the response to the appeal made to members to act as sponsors to sons of deceased servicemen had been highly satisfactory. Over 60 men had volunteered, and, while they might not all be required immediately, it was likely that in due course the services of all would be called UP The chairman intimated that 'the annual report and balance sheet had been completed, and it was left to the chairman and the secretary to arrange the date of the annual meeting, which would probably be held about the middle of November. It was decided, beginning on January 1 next, to send a birthday gift to each child of a deceased serviceman within the movement’s district. These gifts are to be sent on the third birthday of each child and on each subsequent birthday. A sub-cqmmittee was set up to give effect to this decision.
