STALLIONS FOR DOMINION

(Special) WELLINGTON, Oct. 6. Three more highly-bred young stallions have been purchased in England on behalf of New Zealand breeders, and will shortly be shipped to the Dominion. Reported to be the highest-priced stallion that has ever been purchased for New Zealand, Ruthless has been secured for Mr J. A. Mitchell, of the Santa Rosa Stud, Longburn. Ruthless is by Hyperion from Correa, by Coronach from Ranai, dam of the Derby winner Watling .Street and the Two Thousand Guineas winner Garden Path, and was bred by Lord Derby. Mr Ken Austin has acquired for the Inglewood Stud a full brother to Lady Sybil, who was the champion two-year-old Ally of her season. This is Lord Bobs, vyho is by Nearco from Sister Sarah, a mare tracing to Pretty Polly. The third purchase is Treasure Hunt, a half-brother by Bahram to this year’s One Thousand Guineas winner, Picture Play. Bred by Mr J. H. Joel, Treasure Hum is from Amuse, who is closely related to Chief Ruler and Absurd, and has been purchased on behalf of the Mardella Stud, Otahuhu.
