ALBINO A FORM HORSE

The Dunedin Jockey Club’s spring meeting will be held v to-day, the first race starting at 11 a.m. The Ranfurly Handicap has attracted a satisfactory field of well-performed horses, but some of them would have to improve on the form shown in the Tally-Ho Handicap to be granted a chance. The field for the Taliy-Ho Handicap was, however, on the big side, and possibly some crowding prevented a horse from being seen in a favourable light. A race in the early part of the season may also work a big improvement in a horse’s condition. ' Tring goes from 7.6 to 8.2, and meets Sal’s Pal on 91b worse terms for a four-length beating. Hearth is met on 111 b, Arabian Night on 121 b, Kevin on 121 b, Sir Saladiru.on 121 b, Platform on 121 b, Fair Trial on 131 b, and Royal Lancer on 111 b worse terms. The figures show a fairly liberal appreciation of Tring’s win as he will have to travel an extra two and a-half furlongs. The journey should not trouble him as he has won well up to a mile and a-half. Conditions may have helped to increase the poundage on Tring, as some of the opposition did not look in their best racing shape The result of the McLean Stakes and the Dundin Guineas will be noted with widespread interest as probable guides to classic events to be decided later in the season.
