TOMATOES MORE PLENTIFUL CABBAGES IN GOOD DEMAND There has been no word of any further shipments of bananas, but the next shipment of Australian oranges should arrive in about a fortnight’s time. No lemons have arrived on the market this week, but a consignment of New Zealand grown lemons is expected early next week, , „ Choice quality New Zealand grapefruit are selling well, but smaller sizes are difficult to place. Some choice quality Delicious apples arrived ex Central Otago cool store during the week. 'This will be about the last Delicious consignment for the season, and deliveries from now on will consist almost entirely of Sturmers. Wholesale prices are as follows: — Apples: Dessert, 13s Gd; cookers, 12s 6d to 13s 6d.

Oranges: Sold out. Bananas: Sold out. Poorman oranges: 20s to 30s per case. New Zealand lemons: 19s per casq (town) and 18s 3d per case (country). Cauliflowers: 4s to 7s Gd per sack; spring cabbages, 5s to 7s per case; parsnips, to 13d per lb; carrots, 3s to 4s per sugar bag: leeks, 5d to 7d per bundle; artichokes, Id per lb; beetroot, Is 9d per dozen bunches; swedes, 2s to 3s per sugar bag; rhubarb, 3s to 4s per dozen bunches; spinach, Is 6d to 2s Gd per dozen; cucumbers, 20s to 30s per dozen; potatoes—King Edward, to £l3 15s per ton; Whites, £lO 15s to £l2 5s per ton; onions unobtainable.
