GIRL GUIDES’ ASSOCIATION
The handing-over of the new room to the North Otago Girl Guides’ Association took place on Wednesday afternoon, when the'Mayor (Mr J. C. Kirkness) and councillors and their wives were the guests of the Girl Guides’ executive. Mrs McDouall, who presided, welcomed the guests. By the time the Oamaru association was 21, said Mrs McDouall, it was to be hoped that it would have rooms large enough for all the Brownies, Guides, and Ranges. The District Commissioner (Miss J. B. Wilson) thanked the Mayor and councillors, and especially the special committee, for the way in which they had rallied around ana procured the new building. . ~ , Mr Kirkness then handed over the key to Mrs McDouall, and congratulated the association on attaining its twenty-first birthday. Councillors J. Meikle and W. R, Williams also spoke.
