AIRGRAPH SERVICE
SPECIAL CHRISTMAS GREETINGS (Special) WELLINGTON, Oct. 5. The Postmaster-general, Mr P. C. Webb, announced to-day that a special airgraph message form is being provided again this year for conveying Christmas and New Year greetings to members of the forces and civilians in those countries with which the airgraph service is in operation. The special form is similar in size and general lay-out to the ordinary form, and there is ample space for the sender’s message. The form has a border of kowhai, pohutukawa, and rata; and depicts, in addition, ■ a kiwi and a fantail. Copies will be available to the public at all post offices i within a few days. The charge for the transmission of the special greetings airgraph is the same as that for ordinary airgraph mes&ages, namely, 5d each. There is no additional charge for the form. It has arranged with the other countries to which the airgraph service is available that these Christmas greetings airgraphs will be delivered as near to Christmas as possible. In order that this purpose may be achieved, it will be necessary for the special forms to be lodged by the senders to reach Wellington not later than the end of November. It is, therefore, advisable for members of the public to lodge their messages' some days earlier than November 30.
