The City Fire Brigade responded to a call to a gorse fire in the Kaikorai Valley road at 1.35 p.m. on Saturday. No damage was done. A small bush fire near Forfar street, Caversham, was attended to by the South Dunedin Brigade at 6.53 p.m. yesterday. Two reasons why Kaitangata coal is the favourite are its great heat and its lasting qualities.—Advt.
