A SCREEN ANNIVERSARY
This month one of the greatest of all Hollywood corporation will celebrate the twentieth aniversary of its foundation. Into these 20 years have been crowded most of the outstanding achievements of the film industry, including the transition from silent to talking films. Picturegoers, in casting their minds back over the notaDle screen plays of the last two decades, will recall to mind such memorable films as "Ben Hur,” “Min and Bill,” "Grand Hotel,” “ Broadway Melody,” ” Mutiny on the Bounty," " Good-bye, Mr Chips,’ “ The Great Waltz,” " Naughty Marietta,” and in more recent years “ Mrs Miniver," “ Random Harvest,” and ” The Human Comedy.” M.G.M. has been noted for its efforts to raise the standard of motion pictures as an art form, as well a£ an entertainment.
