SUSPECTS AGAIN REMANDED FOUR OTHER CHARGES PENDING After being in custody since last Tuesday following their arrest in connection with an alleged burglary at the Naseby Hotel on the night of June 12, Henry Walton Phillips, aged 29. and Stanley Robert Phillips, aged 28, both described as labourers. • appeared on remand in the City Police Court yesterday before Mr H. W. Bundle. S.M. They were jointly charged with having broken and entered the dwelling house of Thomas Hutton at Naseby and stolen the sum of £277 9s Bjd. # At the request of Chief Detective T. E. Holmes, the accused were remanded in custody until next Monday. Chief Detective Holmes said that another four charges would be brought against them. The accused were not represented by counsel when they appeared yesterday.

On Monday night of last week a sate was removed from the Naseby Hotel. The contents included £277 9s Bld in money, a number of documents and some alluvial gold. A quantity of spirits and cartons of tumblers were also removed. A network of police was organised throughout the .district, and shortly after 6 o’clock on Tuesday morning detectives endeavoured to stop a high-powered car which was travelling towards Dunedin on the main road near Waitati. The car. however, went straight on, narrowly missing one of the detectives. An exciting chase by the detectives in a police car resulted in the two accused being arrested at the point of a loaded revolver.
