MACANDREW BAY ORPHANS

“ Hawaiian Night ” was celebrated by the Macandrew Bay Orphans at the meeting on Saturday. The president, Bro,. E. H. Barrett, was in the chair, and there was a large attendance of members and friends. The presentation of a suitablyinscribed badge to Bro. R. J. Nicholson, the musical director, was made by Bro. Barrett. The following items were contributed during the evening:—Banjo solos, Bro. R. Harrington; accordion solos, Bro S. Walters; songs, Bro. J. G. Thomson: bagpipe selections, Bro. Rodgers; humorous tales, Bro. F. Simpson. Bro. R. Nicholson was the accompanist. An address was given by Mr Duckworth, a member of the merchant navy. The toast of “ The Performers and Visitors ” was proposed by Bro. H. B. Pattrick, and was responded to by Mr Williams.
