COMMUNIST PARTY
MESSAGE TO WORKERS The National Executive of the Communist Party of New Zealand has issued a statement, which reads in pa it:— “ The Second Front has come as a response to the strivings and desires of millions of working people throughout the United Nations. Now that it is here, our supreme task is to supply the fighting fronts with all necessary men and materials. The home f.ont is a necessary part of the fighting front. As a storehouse of foodstuffs and raw materials, New Zealand plays a major part not' only in feeding Allied armies and the British home front, but as a source of supply for the peoples in the areas which are being liberated from Fascist domination. In these circumstances we call upon the workers to demonstrate their loyalty to the anti-Fascist cause by maintaining continuity of production and increasing it to the highest possible level. True militancy will express itself through all activities necessary to increase the production of goods and services essential to the successful prosecution of the anti-Fascist war. Strikes must be eliminated. No provocation from employers can be sufficient to warrant a stoppage of production for the fighting front. Working class unity must go hand in hand with national unity to bring about an increase in the production of goods and services essential to the war effort.”
