Inglis, “ Nature’s Laws.” Music by Miss Kinsman and Mrs V. Walton Cruih He must reign, till He hath_ put all enemies under his feet. —1 Cor. 15: 25. In Him is vested all authority to give life. “ Thou hast given' Him power over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as Thou hast given Him ” (John 17: 2). “He that raised up the Lord Jesus Christ shall raise up us also by Jesus” (2 Cor. 4: 14). “Neither is there salvation in any other; tor there is none other name und:r heaven, given among men, whereby we must be saved ” (Acts 4: 12). He comes to put down all authority and power, and reign supreme on earth — the kingdoms of this world have to become His (Rev. 11: 15). It will be an era of peace and security, with vice and crime suppressed; it will be a time of blessing with extended lives and increased health. He will establish good government with righteous laws; He will lead mankind into paths of obedience to God's commandments: He will abolish all false religion and direct the worship of mankind into true thankfulness and praise (See Ps. 72: Is. 60 and 30). Jesus foretold His own departure, but promised to return. "If I go away, I will come again” (John 14: 3). In His last Vnessages sent from heaven at the end of the first century, He repeats the promise: “Behold, I come as a thief; Blessed is he that watcheth ” (Rev. 16: 15). “ Behold, I come quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be ” (Rev. 22: 12). He comes to establish the Kingdom of God in all the earth, and give to His faithful friends, made like Unto Himself in nature, positions of authority, assisting Him to rule the world in righteousness. Thus Paul connects “ His appearing and His Kingdom” (2 Tim. 4: 1). God has promised to Christ: “ Thou art My Son . . . ask of Me and I will give Thee the nations for thine inheritance, and (he uttermost parts of the earth for Thy possession ” (Ps. 27, 8). And Jesus has extended the promise to all who overcome; “He that overcometh, and keeplh My words unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: . . . even as I received of My Father” (Rev. 2: 26, 27). “Thou good servant; because thou hast bsen faithful in a very little, have thou authority over 10 cities . . . five cities” (Luke 19: 17, 19). Briefly, Christ’s conditions of salvation are belief of the Gospel, baptism intb His Name, and the patient obedience to all His commandments. When one neglects or rejects these conditions, they thereby prove that they are not Christ’s friends no matter what their professions may be (John 15: 14).
