CANADIAN NAVY

FOUR U-BOATS IN TEN WEEKS OTTAWA, June 13. The Minister of the Navy, Mr Macdonald, announced that the fourth German submarine had been destroyed by the Canadian Navy in 10 weeks, the latest being sunk by the Canadian frigate Prince Rupert. A Wellington bomber damaged the submarine six seconds after the submarine broke surface. Prince Rupert’s guns shattered the conning-tower and ripped a dozen holes in the submarine's hull. Fourteen of the submarine’s crew were taken prisoner.
