WESTFIELD DISPUTE
RESUMPTION OF WORK TO-DAY
OFFER OF TRIBUNAL ACCEPTED (P.A.) AUCKLAND. June 14.
A decision to accept the Government’s effer of a tribunal, and to resume work to-morrow was made by the beef shacklers at the Westfield Freezing Works to-day. Meetings of the workers have been held during the past few days. . When the men begin work to-morrow the beef slaughtering floor will have been idle for 15 consecutive working days since the dispute developed on the demand of the shacklers for increased wages for working in the knocking pit. On May 3Q the staffs of all departments of the works were f idle, following a meeting when the issues were discussed between the men and the management. After further discussion all hands, except 80 to 100 beef workers. resumed.
