EARLY SETTLERS
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION The monthly meeting of the committee of the Otago Early Settlers’ Association was held yesterday afternoon. There were present Messrs J, W. Patton (in the chair), A. F. Cheyne. F. W. Knight. H. C. King, R. T. Stewart, J. Hope, S. D. Macpherson, D. C. Cameron, C. C. Robertson, J. A. Paterson, C. Morris, G. Hutton, W. R. Brugh, D. J. Calder, and Edgar Ilazlett. „ „ It was reported that the following gifts had been received during the month: From Mr J. B. Hislop,. a quarterly ticket issued by the Dunedin City and Suburban Tramways Company, Ltd.; from Mr Julius, two pistols brought out from England in 1874; from Mr W. E. McKeich, a bugle believed to have been used by Jack Graham in the 1860’s; from Mr C. E. W’. Davis, photographs of the Dunedin Curling Club. The following deaths were recorded during the month:—William Mclndoe, of Clinton (Aboukir, 1864). late of Wairuna: John Christie Smith, of Invercargill, 1861. aged 90 years; Allen Thomas Little, of Wellington (Metaris, 1862); Mrs W. H. Adams, of Dunedin (nee Dagger), Nelson. 1863. „ , Eight descendants were enrolled during the month.
