PRODUCTION OF ENGINES
GREAT INCREASE IN AUSTRALIA (Rec. 10 p.m.) MELBOURNE, June 12. Australian manufacturers are now producing internal combustion engines at the rate of more than 25,000 a year' compared with fewer than 6000 a year before the war. This has been announced by the Minister for War. Organisation of Industry, Mr J. J. Dedman, who said that Australian makers were supplying engines to all the Pacific fighting forces based on Australia. as. : well as to the Allied Works Council, Government contractors, and to Australian agricultural and secondary industries.
