BATTLESHIPS SHELL NORMANDY COAST.— Three British battleships,—Rodney, Ramilles, and War spite—have been named as taking part in the bombardment o f coastal batteries and other military objectives on the French coast. Warspite and Ramilles were both completed during the last war. Ramilles visited New Zealand in January, 1940, when she escorted the First Echelon to the Middle East. Warspite is a vetern of many battles, probabley her most spectacular being her sortie into Narvik Fiord in April, 1940 to engage enemy destroyers during the campaign in Norway.
