THE CITY COUNCIL

Sir, —Your correspondent ” Independent ” will, I hope, excuse me if I refrain from replying to the main point in his letter of June B—l mean party politics as carried on bv the Citizens’ Association of Dunedin. If I were to reply I would only be contributing to a source of weakness .in our methods of using political propa-. ganda. I refer to the anonymous writer. Rightly or wrongly, I believe any man or woman ought in common decency to sign llis or her own name and address to all letters of a political flavour. Anonymous letters are the cause of much of the bitter fighting which has been so prevalent in our elections of recent years.—l am. etc., C. H. Taylor. 80 Tennyson st„ Dunedin.
