OBITUARY

The death occurred recently at Seatoun, Wellington, after an illness of some months, of Mrs Agnes Fraser Munro, who for many years was a resident of Hooa street, Kaikorai. Mrs Munro was born 65 vears ago at Achlyness, Sutherlandshire, Scotland, and she came to New Zealand in 1910 to join her husband. Mr George Munro, who was a member of the Police Force. He was stationed first in North Dunedin, then in Roslyn, and at the time of his death in 1936, was arms officer in Dunedin. After her husbands death, Mrs Munro lived mainly in Wellington Mrs Munro was a strong supporter of the Presbyterian Church, being a member of the Kaikorai Church for over 20 years. She was also keenly interested in the Dunedin Scottish Society, and on the death of Mr Munro, who was president of the society from its foundation till his death in 1936, she was made a life member. She is survived by her four daughters—Mrs P. Matheson (Maungatua), Mrs B. Selbie (Five Rivers, Southland), Mrs A. Fletcher (Wyndham), and Mrs I. Laing (Wellington). Her elder son, Sergeant Pilot T. F. Munro, R.N.Z.A.F., was killed in action in September, 1942, while her younger son, Corporal I. F. Munro, 2nd N.Z.E.F., was killed in action in Tunisia on April 25. 1943.
