HARDENING OF WOOD
NEW CHEMICAL PROCESS (Rec. 10 am.) NEW YORK, Apl. 18. Mr L. Du Pont announced that he had developed a new chemical process for transmuting into any desired hardness all types of soft wood, through the impregnation of dimethololurea. He explained that poplar becomes harder than maple, and the latter harder than ebony.
